Privacy Policy

Updated: 27th of January 2021

We are Printt Limited, the providers of Printt. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This is our Privacy Policy, which applies to your use of the Printt mobile and web app (called “Printt” in this Policy) and any of our services.

This policy sets out the basis on which we will process any personal data we collect about you.

For the purpose of data protection legislation, the ‘data controller’ for Printt is Printt Limited of Aldgate Tower, 2 Leman Street, London, United Kingdom, E1 8QN. You can contact our Data Protection Officer by writing to us at that address, or by email to help@printt.com.

The headlines:

We collect a range of data about you, your device, and your location, from you, your device and our partners. See INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU for more.

We use that data to power and improve our services, facilitate Collect at Ryman services, and run our business. See USES MADE OF THE INFORMATION for more.

We will share your data with others in order to provide our services, and run our business. See DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION for more.

If you use the “Collect at Ryman” feature to order prints from local print stores, we will share information with the print provider.  See COLLECT AT RYMAN for more.

Some of our service providers (like Stripe, our payment processor) will process your data outside the UK and Europe, but we take care to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place. See WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA for more.

You have a range of rights regarding the processing of your personal data. See YOUR RIGHTS for more.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU

We will collect and process the following data about you:

·       Submitted Information: This is information you provide to us. It includes information you provide when you register to use Printt, use our Printt Delivery service or Printt Now services, order prints from a local print store using Collect at Ryman, and when you report a problem with Printt or our services. The information you give us includes your name, and e-mail address. If you place an order for Delivery, we will also need your delivery address and telephone number. If you contact us, we will keep a record of that correspondence.

·       Print Material. We collect the name and contents of the document you submit for printing via Printt - whether by our Printt Now or Printt Delivery service, or by our partners, using the Print & Collect service.

·       Device Information. Each time you use Printt we will automatically collect technical information, including the type of mobile device you use, a unique device identifier (for example, your device's apple or Google Advertising ID).

·       Usage Information. We collect  details of your use of Printt including information regarding documents you have printed, any Collect at Ryman orders you make, the location of a printer you used for Printt Now, the time you used it, the number of pages you’ve printed using Printt.

·       Location information. We use GPS technology to determine your current location. You will be asked to consent to your data being used for this purpose. You can remove this consent at any time by uninstalling Printt or adjusting your phone settings. Some of our location-dependent services require your personal data for the feature to work. For example, if you choose our Printt Now printing service, we need to know which of our Printt-enabled printers are near you.

·        Third Party Information. This is information we receive from sources other than you or your device. We work with certain third-party service providers to power our services. Some of these providers send us information which may reference you individually. For example, Stripe - our payment processor – will notify us of the result of a payment transaction. Also, we obtain from our collection partners information regarding your transactions with them. For example, they notify us when you have collected your prints from the store.

·       Marketing Preference Information. We will keep a record of your preferences in relation to receiving promotional emails from us or our partners.

USES MADE OF THE INFORMATION

We are required to tell you what uses we make of your information, and the legal basis for our doing so. References in this section to the basis of processing (e.g. "Basis: Legitimate Interest”) are a reference to a legal basis specified in GDPR under which we undertake the processing in question, as follows:

Legitimate Interest: means our interest in conducting and managing our business to enable us to give you the best service and the best and most secure Printt experience. If you use Collect at Ryman, it is also the interest of our print store partners to provide you with an efficient print service.  We make sure we consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative) and your rights before we process your personal data for our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law). You can obtain further information about how we assess our legitimate interests against any potential impact on you in respect of specific activities by contacting us at help@printt.com

Performance of Contract: means processing your data where it is necessary for the performance of a contract between us and you (including under the Printt terms of service) or you and a Collect at Ryman print services provider, or to take steps at your request before entering into such a contract.

Legal Obligation: means processing your personal data where it is necessary for compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation that we are subject to.

Consent: means your affirmative consent, which you can withdraw at any time by adjusting the settings on your device or contacting us at help@printt.com.

We use information held about you in the following ways:

·       Submitted Information: we use this to provide our services to you, to enable you to use Collect at Ryman, and to run our business and improve our services generally. We use your telephone number to help you track orders for Delivery.  We will use your email address (in line with your Marketing Preference Information) to send you promotional info you may be interested in. Basis: Legitimate Interest, Performance of Contract.

·       Print Material: we will use the material you upload in order to provide the printing service to you and to provide to printing providers if you use Collect at Ryman. Basis: Legitimate Interest, Performance of Contract.

·       Device information: we use this to provide our services to you, and to improve our services generally. We also use your IP address and device ID to decide which ads to display to you in Printt and on any sponsored printing. Basis: Legitimate Interest, Performance of Contract.

·       Usage information: we use this to calculate how many pages you have printed, and to provide you with our services generally. We will also use information regarding which printers you have used to add to your profile (see Content Information). Basis: Legitimate Interest, Performance of Contract.

·       Location information: We use this to show you which of our Printt Now printers and Collect at Ryman partner stores are closest to you. Basis: Consent, Performance of Contract.

·       Third Party Information: if you have selected paid printing services, we use this to establish that you have paid for our services. If you use Collect at Ryman, we will use this to confirm the order has been processed, paid for and collected. Basis: Performance of Contract, Legitimate Interests.

·       Login data from Facebook: we use this data as specified in the LOGGING IN USING FACEBOOK section below. Basis: Consent, Legitimate Interests.

·       Marketing Preference Information. We use this to determine whether or not to send you promotional info. Basis: Legitimate Interests.

·       All information: We may use this in order to enforce or apply our Terms of Service, and other agreements or to investigate potential breaches or disputes; or protect the rights, property or safety of us, our customers, or others. Basis: Legitimate Interests.

We will retain information we hold about you as long as is necessary to enable the uses we refer to above and to comply with our legal obligations. This is done in accordance with our data retention practices, which we can share with you on request.

LOGGING IN USING FACEBOOK

If you login to Printt using a Facebook login, you are granting permission to Facebook to share your user details with us. This consists of your age, gender, email, first name, last name, and an application-specific Facebook id, which will then be used to form a Printt identity for you. This will also allow us and Facebook to share your networks, user ID and any other information you choose to share according to your Facebook account settings. If you remove the Printt app from your Facebook settings, we will no longer have access to any further information, but we will still have the information that we received when you first signed up for a Printt account using Facebook.

COLLECT AT RYMAN

Collect at Ryman is a feature that enables you to place orders for print services with a third-party print services provider (for example, Ryman), for collection at a store local to you.  We take your order on behalf of the print services provider.  We pass your order details, your documents for printing, and your contact details to them.  When you use Collect at Ryman, you are the customer of the print services provider - they, not us, are providing you with the printing services.  They act as “data controller” in respect of your documents, and the information about you and your order that we pass to them.  They will process it in accordance with their privacy notice brought to your attention during the Collect at Ryman order process.  If you have any questions regarding their processing of your documents and personal data, please contact the print services provider.  If you exercise any of your rights set out below, we will notify the print services provider of your request. We facilitate payment for Collect at Ryman on behalf of the print services provider, through Stripe. Stripe’s privacy policy is available here: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.

In Printt we may offer you the chance to invite a friend to enjoy Printt. In such circumstances we will collect both your personal details and those of your friend. We may mention your name when we contact the person or persons you have recommended.
